Calphalon Angel Food Cake Pan and a GIVEAWAY!

On Friday, I made my first ever Angel Food Cake. I was a little nervous going into it, but I like to try new things. I found a recipe here on marthastewart.com.

The awesome folks over at CSNstores.com are the sponsors of Cinema Cupcakes' First Ever Giveaway! They literally have everything from cookware to barstools. I selected the Calphalon Angel Food Cake Pan found here to review and to give away to one of my readers.

So Martha's recipe specifically states NOT to spray the pan with cooking spray. And this made me incredibly nervous! But, I knew that Calphalon makes amazing products so I decided to roll with it. Even though my picture may not reflect it, this cake came out surprisingly easy. I think the reason I have some holes in the cake is because I didn't get all the air bubbles out before I baked it. More importantly, this cake tasted great. I was very pleased with the end result.

I dread doing dishes after I am done baking. I mean, really dread it. But this cake pan cleaned up very easily without having to soak or be scrubbed at all. It is dishwasher safe, but I opted to wash it by hand.

And now for the giveaway! To enter to win a Calphalon Angel Food Cake pan from CSNstores.com, leave me a comment below and let me know if you have ever made an Angel Food Cake and how it turned out. Be sure to leave a way for me to get a hold of you if you win. Entries will close at 11:59pm on Monday, March 22nd. I will select a winner using Random.org on Tuesday, March 23rd. Good luck!

I love this pan! I have never made an angel food cake in it, but everything I make in it comes out great. Happy to let someone else win who doesn't already have the pan. I just wanted to put in a plug for its greatness.

I've only made Angel Food Cake once... It was from a box mix and I made it in a bundt-type plan, LOL.

I have never attempted to make one myself, but must admit, it is one of my guilty pleasures. I mean who couldn't love the light and fluffy cloud like goodnes of an Angel Food Cake? good all by itself, or with a dab of Whipped Topping.

Martha isn't by default always right. Go with your instincts. Spray and dust with flour on your next one.

I used to make them all the time and usually ate most of it out of the pan because I couldn't get it out! :-) Now looking at your picture I so want some. RIGHT NOW. Great, now look what you've done. :-)

I have not yet tried to make an angel food cake but am looking forward to trying it this summer, it's one of my favorite summer deserts. After receiving a kitchen aid mixer from my wedding registry I have been trying out at least one new baking recipe a week, I did not however receive a pan so this would be great!

I've never made one, but have WANTED to for SO long. I guess I just haven't bought a pan, so I haven't made one. NOW, if I won one, I'd have NO reason NOT to try making one, now would I? LOL lockwoodmerrie@yahoo.com

I have never made an angel food cake because I've been scared it wouldn't come out! I have a pan but I'm not even sure how to use it since it's two pieces. It was a pan that was handed down to me so it's not nonstick either! Thanks for the giveaway.

I have made lots of angle food cakes. I especially love slicing them in two several layers, filling with lemon filling and frosting them with whipped cream. My poor old pan has seen better days however and I would love a new one - especially a Calphalon!
